Abstract Infection control is one of the most important problems all over the world. The prevention and control of infection is fundamental to the provision of a safe enviromnent for patients and fonns an integral part of the practice of any health care professional working in a clinical setting. The aim of the present study was to design, implement and evaluate the outcome of an in-service training program given to nurses about hospital infection control. This study was conducted at Suez Canal University hospital in Ismailia City. Total samples of 36 nurses working in surgical units (male & fomele) were included in the· study. This achieved through the use of two tools, a questionnaire sheet and an observation check list. The two tools aimed at assessing nurses knowledge and performances before and after the program . This study conluded that there were signitlcant deffrences between nurses knowledg and perfonnance before , after and three monthes later of the program. |
