Abstract

Co-agulation has been widely used in water treatment and wastewater treatment. Therefore there is an urgent need to develop a novel coagulant in order to improve the performance of coagulation water treatment process and its cost.
Accordingly, the present study is a trial for treatment of ground water, sewage waste water, and industrial waste water using a new adsorbent material. This trial aimed to decrease environmental pollution in one side and the treated water may be reused in all applications and thus the agro-residue (rice husk) becomes a useful substance.
This study is consists of the following items:
Water resources in Egypt, water pollution and some pollutants with traditional method of treatment, rice husk and Globally production and different applications of co-agulation process, new co-agulatants, adsorption curves, batch system.
Preparation of a new material; five types of rice husk ash from Rice Husk, thee types of sodium silicate, eight types of poly inorganic co-agulants as follows; poly aluminum chloride, poly aluminum chloride silicate, poly ferric chloride, poly ferric chloride silicate, poly hydroxy sulphate, poly hydroxy sulphate silicate, co-polymer aluminum ferric chloride, co-polymer aluminum ferric chloride silicate. Characterization of the new materials by FTIR, NFTIR, SEM, XRD and DSC. Methods analysis of some selected pollutants according to standard methods (2005). Physical chemical analysis of some selected parameters in surround water, industrial water, sewage waste water, before and after treatment. Factors affecting of treatment process (the interference ions, concentration of adsorbent) adsorption are models frendlish, Langmuir batch system.
Results obtained were explained, interpreted, and Discussed in details on the basis of applied physical chemistry, proposed mechanisms were discussed, overall treatment plant was suggested, and future study was recommended.
