Abstract

The present study was conducted throughout two successive seasons (2005/ 2006 and
2007/2008) on banana plants (Musa cavendishii cv. ”Williams Hybrid”) in the Faculty of
Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Shoubra El-Kheima, Egypt. The investigation involved three
main parts:
Part I: Sand culture experiments
The aim of this part was to study the effect of different levels of some macro- and
micronutrients on growth, mineral content and nutrients uptake of banana, plants produced by in
vitro culture technique. All plants were grown in sand culture under plastic green house. This
part involved six experiments and could be summarized as follows
