Abstract
The work presented in this Thesis comprises a phytochemical investigation of Pancratium maritimum L.
testing the biological activity by the brine shrimp bio-assay and
Preliminary chemical and biological screening of the different organs of Pancratium maritirnum L.. the different fresh organs of pancratium martitimum bulb,leaf flower,pericarp and seed were separately extracted by ethtl
alkaloids alcohol, fractionated and screened for alkaloids.
each fraction was also subjected to the brine shrimp bio-assay to evaluate its biological activity.the obtained results clearly showed that the activity is associated with the alkaloidal fractions only.
