Abstract

Water scarcity forces countries to use marginal of low quality and
quantity for irrigation water irrigation. The main objective of this
study are studying the effect of al-salam canal on soil salinity,
permeability and solute transport. Pathsof solute transport were
investigated by a 0.05 m bonded pulse of vitasyn blue AE 90 dye
allowed to infiltrate into the unsaturated soil to recognize solute
transport. Soil salinity was investigated by measuring the bulk electrical
conductivity by electromagnetic (WET Sensor). Soil infiltration.
rate was investigated by mean double ring infiltrometer. Experimental
results as well as analysis were discussed and recommendations were
presented.
