Abstract
The study was conducted to detennine the effect of a training program
developed for nurses about universal precautions for infection control in health
care centers in port said. The study was carried out in five health care centers.
The sample was composed of (50) nurses working at emergency ,dressing
,dental and immunization clinics. The tools(self administered questionnaire
sheet, observation checklist, training program. Nurses knowledge and practice
was found to be unsatisfactory in the pretest. There were statistically
significant improvements immediately after and throughout the program phase.
Given this it is recommended to provide equal opportunities for nurses to attend ;
training program about infection control •
