Abstract Drugs are two-edged swords – on the one hand they frequently lifesaving in case of dangerous diseases, but on the other hand they have many possible adverse effects. This aptly justifies the need to propagate through the public and also the pharmacists the concept that drug accessibility should be only under the prescription of the physician. Besides, the amount of the dose and the duration of usage that are advised by the physician should be strictly obeyed. However, in spite of taking these into consideration, we have to be aware that any drug is a chemical that interfers with the body metabolism and may cause derangement in one way or another. Drug manufacturers are becoming increasingly fearful of reporting drug-induced hazards because of the fear of legal reprisals. |
