Abstract
The fluctuation of various stages of C. ppiens moLestus, evaluacion of the efficacy of some mosquito predator’s, pathogen, toxicity of some insecticides on larvae pupae a:IL adults and field application of Malathion and Altosid against ]arvae were conducted in Luxor city, Upper Egypt. Results showed that:—
I. Ecological studies:
- The larval density was significantly higher than pupal density regardless of areas and seasons.
2 - The density of immature stages (Larvae and pupae) was ignificantly higher during summer and spring with a
maximum peak during June.
— High significant correlation was found between ,nr’* irc stages density and temperature, whereas insigniticor’l
correlation was found with salinity and pH of water.
4 - The density of larval stage was significantly higher in summer and spring than in autumn and winter. The maximum peak was in June and the lowest density was recorded in January and February. The density was highly correlated with water temperature but not with salinity and pH. Similar results on pupal stage were observed.
