Abstract
The use of direct speed sensor for induction motor drives besides being bulky and reduces the robustness , it adds extra cost to the drive system .Speed sensor ,also ,implies additional electronics, extra wiring ,extra space and careful mounting which detracts from the inherent robustness of drive .For these reasons, there is acurrent research interest to develop speed-sensorless induction motor drives for high performances application.
