Abstract This study was conducted to find out the various physiological, social and emotional concerns or women subjected to hysterectomy in Assiut. So, sixty women scheduled for hysterectomy were recruited from Assiut University Hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors of post hysterectomy complaints and identify the post-hysterectomy complaints. A two-part interview schedule was developed. Part I focused on the demographic data of the women. Part II was concerned with interviewing women at home three months after the operation to determine the factors of post-hysterectomy complaints by construction of interviewing schedules to identify the post-hysterectomy complaints. The result of this study revealed that (53%) of women were less than 35 years. the majority (92%) of them were Moslem. They lived in nuclear families. The Icngth of marriage for more than half (66%,) of them was 10 years or more. Almost (5%) were highly educated. Ninety-four percent of them were housewives and (27’%) of them were from urban area. |
