Abstract The present study was designated to know the effect of using extracts of some marine algae (chlorella, spirulina and laminaria). In improving immunity markers in rats, in addition to their hypolipidemic and hypoglycemic effect with previous reported important for human consumption. This investigation was used about four levels of the selected marine algae which were ,0.5%,1.0% 2.5 and 5% to form basal diets for studying their effects on seventy white male albino rats 3 weeks age , each weighting (60-65 g), were used in this investigation. All rats were fed on basal diet for one week before starting the experiment for acclimatization. After one week, rats were divided into 3 main groups (78 rats each) 1- Normal rats , 2- Alloxan induced diabetic rats , 3-Hyperchlorestemic induced rats this group were fed on basal diet +1.0%cholesrterol to induce hypercholesterolemia . Each main group have one control group and 3 sub-groups each sub- group related to the type of algae were added to the rats chlorella (CH.) – Spirulina(SP.) L– aminaria(LAM.) each one classified into 4 groups as the level of the algae 0.5%, 1.0%, 2.5%, 5.0% (24 rats each), all groups were fed for 28 days on experimental diet as follows. |
