Abstract
The present study was carried out to investigate one of the most important economical parasitic diseases of Tilapia species in Egypt. As yellow grub disease leads to great losses in such fishes as well as the public health importance of the disease which causes larngyo-pharyngitis ( Halzun Like disease ) in human beings. In the present study, 300 random samples of Oreochromis niloticus (100 ), O. aureus ( 100 ) and Sarotherodon galillae 100 ) collected from lake Nasser ( Aswan governorate ) during different seasons of 1997 . Another 300 live of the three tilapia species with the same
number and distribution were collected from Nile branchesSharkia gorvernorate ) in the same year. The results obtained revaled the followings : l-The external examination of naturally infested fishes revealed .no pathognomonic sign for such disease. It was found slight protrusion of opercula and excess of mucous with slight rapid respiration rate.
