Summary of Research

Since little children are unable to meet their demands, it’s a prerequesite
that they depend on others, but as they grow older, they gradually begin to
be independent which is an important criterion for the development of
normal personality.
This means that age, maturity, experiences, psychological aptitudes,
and mental abilities affect their development.
Since behaviour. a dynamic interaction between the type of
socializing the child and his experiences it is affected by environment. thus,
the present study aims at developing some aspects of independent
behaviour in primary stage children throught a suggested training program.
It also aims at developing an instrument used to measure the level of such
behaviour.
Sample of the study contains 56, 11 - 12 year fifth graders in
Monofeiya governorate. Those subjects are divided into two groups, control
and expermental each having the same number of subjects.
The following instruments are used:
- Pictorial Intelligence test, by A.Z. Saleh.
- Scale of children independence behaviour, by the researcher.
- A suggested training program to develop some aspects of
independent behaviour in children, by the researcher.
The research results revealed the following:
- The training program used, has the effectiveness of increasing the level of
independence behaviour in children.
- The training program used. is characterized by the continuity of its
effectiveness.
- It’s appeared that the variables related to the effectiveness and continuity
of such effectiveness of the program used are: feeling secure, persistence,
satisfaction, esteem & encouragement, and attraction & excitement.
