Abstract
Detecting tuberculosis in cattle by using tuberculin test, slaughtered the positive cases and examined tissues showing tuberculous like lesions taken for bacteriological examination and serum samples for serological diagnosis by using Anigen Rapid Bovine TB Ab test kit using MPB70 specific antigen. Serological evaluation demonstrated sensitivity (85%) and specificity (80%). In conclusion, using Anigen Rapid Bovine TB Ab test with tuberculin test can decrease the percentage of false positive animal infected with TB ,so that test can be used for the diagnosis of active tuberculosis in conjunction with other diagnostic tests . The m-PCR protocol is highly species specific and decease the time needed for speciation of M.bovis & M.tuberculosis so can be use as a routine monitoring tool in areas of endemicity.
