Abstract

C. psittaci was isolated from (62.67 % )of 142 organs sample and (55.55 %) from fecal swabs of ducks in 7- days old ECE, yolk sac route. C. psittaci inclusions were demonstrated in impression smears stained with Giemsa stain from 142 bird, the highest percent of infection was in lung (73.23 %) followed by liver then spleen and finally heart. Chlamydial antigen detected in 142 internal organs samples using CFT, the positive percent was (76.76%), also antigen detected in fecal swabs using CFT with positive percent of (69.84 %) from 126 samples tested. Serum samples was tested for testing Chlamydial antibodies using CF and ELlSA tests with positive results (71.76 %), (88.23 %) respectively from 170 samples. The polypeptide profiles obtained by SOS-PAGE analysis of purified EBs from 18 isolates of C.psittaci from ducks reveals 9-17 bands corresponding to molecular weights of 7.121 and 242.86 kOa.
