Abstract

Forty five broiler farms were monitored for suspected coccidiosis in five
governorates (Giza, Menia, Fayoum, Ismailia and Kalubia) based on clinical
examination, pathological examination and laboratory examination of litter and
dead chicks from the monitored farms as well as histopathological examination.
The overall percentage of coccidiosis among the examined farms was 68.8%.
Cecal coccidiosis constituted 40%, intestinal coccidiosis constituted 3% and
mixed infection was the predominant 57 % of positive cases of coccidiosis.
Incidence of coccidiosis in the examined farms in different govemorates were
60%, 62.5%, 85.7%, 71.4% and 75% in Giza, Menia, Fayoum, Ismailia and
Kalubia governorates respectively.E.tenella and E.necatrix were identified.
f
Diclazuril, amprolium plus ethopabate and monensin sodium were evaluated as
preventive measure against field isolated E.tenella under floor pen condition.
Toltrazuril, amprolium and sulphaquinoxaline were evaluated as in water
treatments of cecal coccidiosis in broilers similar to field condition.
