Abstract Three types of vaccines were prepared: a polyvalent inactivated clostridial vaccine, inactivated cell culture rabies vaccine and. a combined vaccine (composed of the polyvalent clostridial vaccine and inactivated cell culture rabies vaccine). Each vaccine was examined for sterility, safety and potency. These vaccines were considered to be safe in vaccinated sheep where they did not induce any abnormal signs. The immune response to such vaccines was evaluated in vaccinated animals using neutralization test, ELISA and plate agglutination test showing high levels of specific antibodies against each antigen. Also it was noticed that there was no antagonizing between the vaccine antigens on the sheep immune response. So it was concluded that the prepared combined clostridia and rabies vaccine is safe and protect for immunization of sheep against clostridia and rabies. |
