Abstract

Abstract
The objectives of the present investigation were including four items: (a) surviving and diversity of glomeromycota at different locations in Ismailia governorate (during the summer 2008) under natural nutrient limited soil conditions. (b) To find out the effectiveness of mycorrhiza in promoting growth, N and P content by maize (Zea mays) plant grown on loamy sand in pot trails in the presence or absence of phosphate and nitrogen application. (c) Used VAM fungi as a biocontrol agent. (d) Made culturing and Mass Production of AM Fungi.(e) choose the best method for preservations of mycorrhizal fungi spores
Of a Total of 36 sites representing in Ismailia governorate (6 sites in El-Salhea, 14 sites in Abu Suwerr, 6 sites in Ismailia city and 10 sites in East Suez Canal region), AM spores from collected soil and plant samples were identified by morphological characters to one genus(Glomus) for seven species Glomus etunicatum, Glomus coronatum, Glomus intraradices, Glomus mosseae, Glomus invarmaium, Glomus viscosum, Glomus sp.
Studying the effect of VAM as a biofertilizer and plant growth promotor the data showed that the best result at the low level of phosphorus and nitrogen fertilization. The results showed that treatments which inoculated with mycorrhizal increased most traits than without mycorrhizae.
The data obtained the role of mycorrhizae inoculation to enhance the maize plant to resist the soil pathogenics fungi (Fusarium oxysporum).
The beast method for preservation and storage mycorrhizal fungi spores, they came as followes: glycerin 5%, water agar 20%, pure sand then gelatin 20%.
Key words: Zea mays- mycorrhizae- VAM- phosphorous- Nitrogen- Fusarium oxysporum - identification
