Abstract
The present study was carried out at the Poultry Research Farm,
Department of Poultry Production, Faculty of Agriculture, Shibin El-
Kom, Minufiya University . The experiment was extended from 2008,
to 2009, in order to investigate the effect of some factors ( sex,
antigen type and antigen administration route ) on immune response
and their relation to some blood constituents (total proteins , albumin,
globulin , RBCs count , WBCs count and hematocrit values before
and after separation ) , and some semen characteristics ( semen
volume , percentage of sperm motility , hydrogen ion concentration
(PH ) , percentage of abnormal and live sperms ) .
A total of 243 (121 males and 122 females ) individuals of Norfa
chickens were divided into two groups according to the antigen type.
The first group ( 60 males and 61 females ) was injected with sheep
red blood cells ( SRBCs ) whereas, the second group (61 males and
61 females ) was injected with bovine serum albumin (BSA).
Each group was subdivided- according to the antigen
administration route- into two subgroup : The first subgroup ( 30
males and 31 females ) was injected with ( SRBCs ), and (31 males
and 30 females) was injected with ( BSA ) using the intravenous (IV)
administration route. While, the second subgroup ( 30 males and 30
females) was injected with (SRBCs), and ( 30 males and 31 females )
was injected with ( BSA ) using the intramuscular administration .
