Abstract
This study was carried out on 620 apparently healthy euryhaline fishes and shellfish. Including [ 160 Tilapia ”oreochromis niloticus” from ELManzalah lake, 160 Mugil cephalus ”80 from ELManzalah lake and 80 from Mediterranean sea ” 300 shellfish ” Tapes dessicatus” from Mediterranean sea and 8 water samples. Collected from El-Manzalah lake and 8 water samples from Mediterranean sea in (Port Said) governorate.
Thes samples were examined for the presence of fungi in fishes and shellfish by culturing on saborauds’ dextrose agar with chloramphenical and on Czapek’s dox agar media. The obtained results revealed isolation of moulds and yeasts from fishes, shellfish and water samples. The fungi were isolated from tissues and different organs as gills, liver, kidneys, eyes, skin and fins of euryhaline fishes in all seasons of the year.
