Abstract
Respiratory diseases in calves are a major problem for the people who raise calves especially with the development of internsive system of production.
In our investigations the cause of respiratory distress was varied in apparently healthy animals the percentage of isolation 12% while in diseased calves the percentage were 43.82%.
Clinical investigations of the diseased calves could be classified into general signs of illness, signs of upper respiratory tract and lastly signs of lower respiratory tract affections.
The signs of general illness lasted only for a short time and included dullness and were proportional with the degree of elevated body temperature. Anorexia was of degrees varying from slight, moderate to severe degree with the percentage of 100%. Pyrexia in pneumonic calves was ranged from 39.5 C including 100% of the diseased calves.
