Abstract
The present study deals with the geology, petrography, geochemistry, radioactivity and mineralogy, of the Carboniferous Abou Thora Formation. The Abu Thora Formation is conformably overlying the Un Bogma Formation and is capped by basaltic sheet ( Permo Triassic ). Field studies include the mode of occurrence of the Abu Thora Formation. This Formation was examined in Um Bogma area by (15) sections, as following : Ramlet Hemeyir, W.El Sahu, W.El Beeda, G.El Alluga, W El Dabbabaty, W.Ras-Nukhul, W.El Kharige ( G.Hazbar ), G.Abu Qafas area.
