Abstract
Results revealed that the experimental group achieved significantly higher in the post test as there was a statistically significant difference (favoring the post test) between mean scores obtained on the pre test and post test of appreciation of literature. The study also reported a significant difference in the students’ English proficiency. In light of the present results, there is a need for providing pre service teachers of English with opportunities to get engaged in discussions during literature study as literary appreciation begins with engagement.
