Abstract

People have desired to keep certain sensitive communications secret for thousands of years. In
our new age of digital media and internet communications, this need often seems even more
pressing.
Some solution to be discussed is how to passing information in a manner that the very existence
of the message is unknown in order to repel attention of the potential attacker.
Informally, cryptography’s aim is to enable users to communicate securely over an insecure
channel in a way that guarantees their transmissions’ privacy and authenticity.
Cryptography is an effective way of protecting sensitive information but it is not sufficient
This thesis presents higher level of information security by applying both cryptography and
steganography.
Steganography is the art of biding information in ways that prevent its detection .
. In recent years, steganography has been used by individuals and groups of either side of the law.
Terrorists have been suspected of using steganography to hide data communications in graphics
onwebsites. Governments use forms of steganography to secure their currency against
counterfeiting.
The purpose of the presented thesis is.to provide information in the field of information security.
Also a brief history with illustrations of some cryptographic and steganographic techniques is
introduced.
This thesis presents a technique for video steganography based on DWT to embed information
after it has been encrypted using AES.
Video Steganography is a technique to hide any kind of files in any extension into a carrying
Video file.
Experimental results show that the proposed-algorithm has the characteristics of little degrading
the visual effect, larger embedding capacity and resisting video processing such as frame adding
or frame DROPping and finally a conclusion and remarks are made
