Abstract
Wastewater effluent from textile plants using various dyestuffs is one of the major water pollution sources to environment. To overcome this environmental problem we have synthesized Titanium dioxide nanoparticles by hydrolysis of Titanium tetrachloride in Aqueous-Alcoholic media and utilize it as photocatalyst for the photocatalytic degradation of Safranin- O dye as a model pollutant. Safranines are the azonium compounds of symmetrical 2,8-dimethy1-3,7-diamino-phenazine. This compounds has effect on the lungs, th orax or respiration affected; it may be harmful by ingestion, causes eye irritation, may be harmful by skin absorption, causes skin irritation and may be harmful by inhalation.
