Abstract . Survey of phytophagous arthropods inhabiting fig trees and their predators: The survey of arthropods inhabiting fig trees in Assiut E1-Fayoum Governorate indicated the existance of eight 1rtophagous species. Tetranychus arabicus Attiah, Eutetra— us orienta’-is (Klein) , Eriophes ficus Cott, Aonidieila antii (Maskell) , Asterotecanium pustulans (Cockerell) “plastes rusci Linnaeus, £onchaea aristella Becker, and henopteraarabica Castelnau and Gory. The survey also indicated that predaceous mites were tlyseius swirskii (Athias—Henriot) , Agistemus exsertus -a1ez, Cheletogenes ornatus (Canestrini & Franzago) , and Pronematus ubiquitus (Mc Gregor); and predaceous insects ScoZothr’ips longicornis Priesner, Onus albidipennis :c:ter, Chrysopa carnea Schm., Scymnus sp., Cydonia visina siS Cr., and Paederus alfierii Koch. Three mite species of debatable feeding habits were rveyed. They were, Rhynocaphytoptus ficifoZiae Keifer, rarsonemus sp.,and Tydeus californicus (Banks). All surveyed arthropods were included into 18 families, 21 genera, and 21 species. The number of species recovered Ei-Fayoum was more than that recovered in Assiut. |
