Abstract This study was carried out in the Experimental farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University and Reproductive Eftology Unit (R. B. U.), Fuculty 04 Medicine, Assiut University. The study started at 1st of December 1985 until 1st of December 1986 on 24 does, 12 Egyptian Ealadi and 12 crossbred 9aladi ,t Anglo Nubian buck) goats for determination of oestrus activity throughout different seasons of the year. Goats fed on a Trifolium alexandrinum from December till April and on Darawa from May till October. Also animals supplemented with pelleted concentrate mi,ture, one kg per head/ day. Boat does were examined daily in the morning and evening (0.0 a.m and 4.0 p.m) by using aproned fertile buck and vaginal scope for heat detection. In addition to that, 270 blood samples had been taken from 9 does, 5 Egyptian Baladi and 4 crossbred goats during, 7 oestrous cycles in January (winter season) , April Or May (spring season) July (summer season) and October (autumn saeson) to determine the concentration of etradiol 178 and progesterone hormones. Data were stati5tically analysed using the log_linear models and Least squares analysis of variance. The main results obtianed could be summarized in the following;— Most of Egyptian E4aladi does had oestrus activity throughout the year with slight variations occurring between different months of the year. The maximum level for occurrence of oestrus 102. |
