Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during three successive seasons of 1988, 1989 and 1990. The objective is an attempt to examine the response of 15—year—old Manfalouty pomegranate trees grown at the Experimental Orchard of Assiut University to certain doses of N, P, K and their possible combinations. Flowering, fruit setting, yield, fruit quality and some nutrient status in the leaves are the parameters used to test such response. The data of yield and fruit quality of 1988 season were used as an index to select trees during 1989 and 1990. Thus, the results of 1989 and 1990 seasons were only presented in this study. The alloted trees were arranged in a factorial experiment in split split plot design using two doses, each of N, P, K at 400 & 700 g N/tree; 150 & 250 g P205/tree; and 250 & 500 g K20/tree, respectively. Each treatment was replicated 5 times giving a total of 40 trees.
