Abstract This investigation was designed to study the following topics of me food wastes namely: citrus peels and seeds (orange, grapefruit mandarin); tomato seeds and buffalo bone: - Essential oil contents and their fractionation by GLC of three citrus peels. - Gross chemical composition of citrus seeds, tomato seeds, buffalo bone and their products. - Physico-chernical properties of lipids extracted seeds and buffalo bone. - Comparative studies of lipid fractions of different classes of lipids extracted from seeds and bone. - Fatty acids composition of total lipids and their triglycerides in seeds and buffalo bone. - Removing of liinonoid compounds of citrus seeds, as well as fractionation of limonoid compounds by TLC. - Study of sonic physico-chemica) and functional properties of citrus seeds, tomato seeds and buffalo bone products. - Quality assessment of citrus seeds, tomato seeds and bone, as well as their products. - Manufacture and evaluation of sausage and biscuit with varying levels of seeds and buffalo bone products to satisfy human consumption from the stand point of acceptability low cost and high biological value. |
