Abstract With the increase of chronic diseases in children, traditional medical indicators of outcome no longer suffice. Therefore, comprehensive assessment of health status or Health- Related Quality Of Life (HRQOL), including physical and psychosocial domains, is required to complement the clinical measures. The aim of this work was to: 1- Measure the HRQOL in children with chronic liver disease (CLD). 2- Identify some factors that correlate with HRQOL in children with CLD. 3- Determine whether HRQOL in children with CLD differs by the type and severity of disease This study was conducted on 200 children with CLD attending the outpatient clinic and inpatient of pediatric hepatology department, National Liver Institute Menoufiya University. Cases were collected Another 50 apparently healthy children, age and sex matched with the disease group were taken as a control group. The 200 children with CLD were classified according to etiologic cause into the following 6 groups. |
