Abstract
This Study address the relationship between pramagmatics and sociolinguistics It investigates the relationship Between Gender, speech acts, and chatrooms (i.e afrom of Computer-Mediated Communication). The study examines the differences and/or simlarities between the English-English and Arab-Arab speakers in realizing requests and apologies CCSARP (Blum-Kulka et., 1989) was used to anlyze of the study this code is used to anlayze requests and apologies strategies in chat room. This model proved to be valid in CMC STUDIES as well as in face-toface studies. Requests were anlayzed in both the arabic and english chat threads, while apologies were not anlayzed since there were apologies recorded in the data.
