Abstract The flame characteristics of kerosene diffusion flame, when adding the combustion products to the combustion air stream, were investigated. The temperature distribution, flame shape and the exhaust species concentrations are measured. The test parameters are: swirl number, blockage ratio, air to fuel ratio, thermal load, and exhaust gases percentage and inlet mixture temperature. An experimental test rig was designed to investigate the above parameters. The effect of changing the exhaust gases percentage on the flame characteristics are stringer than that of changing the inlet mixture temperature, when using the bluff-body, and the vise versa was found when using air swirler. |
