Abstract Olive oil extraction produces large amounts of waste water, known as o.m.w.w. The major aim of this study was to investigate the use of o.m.w.w as reduce the chemical compounds that become very toxic to the soil. The o.m.w.w holds a large amount of T.ph.s,preventing the biodegradation processes because of their inhibitory action on microbial growth. Thus, its disposal represents an environmental problem for the great olive oil producing countries in the Mediterrnean area. Its use in agriculture could help to solve the disposal problem and, at the same time, to improve the physiochemical characteristics of intensely cultivated soils. Results showed that, the highest % removal of T.S.S was found with (H2O2 14%+FeCl3 (50 mg\l)),while the highest % removal of (V.S.S,NO3-,PO4-3&HCO3-) was achieved with (CaCo3+Al2(So4)3),but the highest % removal of (T.ph.s,K+,Mg+2,Cl-,Fe+,Mn+&Co+) was found with (NaOH+Na2CO3), the highest % removal of (Cu+,Ni+,Cr+,SO4-2&CO3-2)was determined with P.A.C,but the highest % removal of (Na+&Ca+2 )was found with (KMnO4(10%)). |
