Abstract
1- The carrier rate of Pasteurella multocida Roberts type I in a study of 100 apparently healthy sheep was 6 percent while that in a study of 200 Slaughtered sheep in Asswan abttoirs was 7 percent.
2- A desoription of an outbreak of haemorrthagic septicaemia among imported sheep in Asswan is given.
3- Of 97 carcases of sheep suspected to be infected with haemorrhagic septioaemia in High Dam quarantine following shipping from the Sudan, 8 (8.24 percent) were found to be infected with Pasteurella multocida Roberts type I.
4- Pasteurella multocida Roberts type I was isolated more frequently from the heart blood, lung, liver and spleemn of the dead carcases of sheep.
5- Serological typing of the 28 strains of Pasteurella multocida Roberts type I Isolated from carriers as well as clinical cases of sheep was carried out by indirect passive mice protection tests supported by a number of cultural, biochemical and pathogenicity tests.
