المستخلص
The researcher concentrates on tourism in uper Egypt : an applied study of the geography of tourism. It is divided into six chapters as follows :
The first chappter : it centres on tourism, the fields, the varieties and history of tourism. It also handles the development of tourism and its relationship to geography and the varieties of tourism and the development of tourism in egypt.
The second chapter : It handles the natural aspects of hte area under study. The area has been defined and the positional, the photographic and the climatic characteristics are presentted. Their inpact on tourism is also discussed.
The third chapter : It tacklles the historical aspects of Upper Egypt. These aspects are divided into : Islamic, Coptic, Roman, Batlamic and pharonic archaeologies and the new sites. Their geographyical and proportional distribution in Upper Egypt.
The fourth chapter : This chapter deals with the services established by human beings such as : transportation of all sorts, hotels(normal hotels & floating hotels). The development of city hotels and their rates and distribution in the cities of Upper Egypt.
The fifth chapter : It handles and studies the industry of tourism which is divided into two types : internal and external tourism. The study of the external tourism has included international tourism and to development and the classification of tourists according to citizenship and the means of transports on used by tourists.
The sixth chapter : It deals with the economical and social effects of tourism. Yhis chapter shows the importance of tourism on the economic aspect of life in Egypt. It indicates the impact of tourism on manpower, the economic structures, in come and price floating and the trade budget. It has also tackled tke problems caused by our dependence on tourism.
