• Problem of the study : “What is the Effectiveness of a Suggested Program in Social Studies in Developing the Maps Skills and Spatial Ability of Second Year Preparatory Students”?
• Methods & Procedures : To answer the question of the study and validate the study hypotheses, the researcher developed a list of the required skills for second year preparatory students, and determined the verbal significance of each skill. He analyzed the content of the social studies book of second year preparatory “Geography syllabus” in the light of the prepared list. The suggested program was designed by the researcher. The pilot study was conducted to calculate validity and reliability. The main group of the research was selected, and the tests were pre-applied. The suggested program was taught and the tests were applied postly .
• Results:
The Study found out the existence of statistically significant differences between the pre and post applications of the tests of maps skills and spatial ability in favor of the post application. The result was attributed to the suggested program.
