Abstract
A total of 295 ooagulase-positive staphylococci strains were isolated from Assiut Province. Of these, 162 were isolated from cow’s milk and the reminder were isolated from pyogenic lesions in man. The biochemical characteristics of isolates were determined.
Most of the bovine strains produce B-haemolysis and this was not the case with the human strains. The fibrinolysin was produced by most of the human strains while the majority of the bovine strains failed production. There was no relationship between the B-haemolysin and fibrinolytic activity.
