Abstract Fifty random samples of imported frozen boneless meat were collected as follow: 30 indian samples from different Edfina markets and 20 samples from El-Delengate markets(l0 Indian& 10 Brazilian). Samples were tansfered directly to the laboratory where they were examined microbiologically toassess the hygienic quality of imported frozen meat in our markets. Microbiological examination: 1. Imported frozen boneless meat from Edfina markets (Indian Meat): 1. Total aerobic bacterial count (TABC): ranged from 1.3x 10 to 1.5 x l07with mean value of 1.08 X 106± 5.6 x 10. (CFU/g) 2. Total Psychrophillic count: ranged from 5x 102 to 1.8 x 105’with mean value of 2.36 W4±8.8 x lO3cfb/g 3. Staphylococcus aureus count: ranged from 3x 10 to 1.7x lo4with mean value of 2. 6 x 1o±7.8 x 102. 4. Total Enterobacteriacaea count: ranged from 3 x 102 to 10 x l05with mean with mean value of 9.06 x 10±3.9 x 104 cftu/g. 5. Total coliform count: ranged from 2 x 102 to 5 x 105 with mean value of 2.47 x l0± 1.7 104 cfu/g. 6. Total mould count: ranged from 3 x 10 to 3 x 103 with mean value of5.4 X 102± 1.6 x lO2cfu/g. 7. Total yeast count: ranged from 3 x 10 to 7 x 103 with mean value of 1.9 x 103 ± 4,6 x 1 102cfh/g. |
