Abstract — 138 —<SUMMARY: Clinical examination and laboratory identification were made on 225 cases of cattle with clinical ringworm lesions in E1—Minia, Assiut and 3ohag Governorates. Iviycological clearance of exnzined skin crusts and hair samples of cattle revealed the presence of ringworm fusigi in 146 out of 225 cattle (64.89 %) among animals of vrriable age and sex. T. verrucoawn was isolutea in a higher percentage as the main causative agent of cattle dennatophytosis (58.29%), !ollowed by . rnentarophyte (26.86 %), T. schonleini (12 %) and !• violftoeun (1.14 %). Other keratinophilic fungi isolated were Q. (1.14 %) and . keratino— philun (0.75 %). Single infection was detected in 117 (80.14 %) cattle, and such aninals were infected with one of the following strains : P. verrunoswa, T. nentagropft.vt, . schonleini and C.panorum. While, mixed infection was found in 29 (19.86 %) cattle which comprised in! ection with 2 strains only from : 2. verrucosura, P. nentagrophytes, T. schonleini, violaceun, C. and C. keratinophilun. |
