Abstract The distribution of amniotic fluid within the uterine cavity during labor is predictive of perinatal outcome. The presence of a high negative predictive value for all of the perinatal indices studied inhances the value of amniotic fluid distribution as a potential screening test and its application to provide additional guidelines in defining the intrapartum management and therapy of patients presenting for labor and delivery. |
