Abstract
Experimental study has been conducted on twenty rabbits. A surgical bone defect was created in the right and left tibia. The right side was grafted with hydroxyapatite only while left side grafted with hydroxyapatite plus PRP. The animals were divided equally into four groups. They were sacrificed for both histological and radiographic examinations at 2,4,8 and 16 weeks postoperatively. The results indicated that the combination of hydroxyapatite and PRP has better effect on the healing process.
