Abstract Flavonoids are naturally occurring compounds which are widely distributed in fruit, vegetables, medicinal plants and beverages such as tea, coffee, wines and fruit drinks. Special attention has been also given to flavonoids due to the many studies that suggest that these compounds have beneficial effects in age-associated diseases such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, some forms of cancer and parkinson’s and alzheimer’s diseases. |
