Abstract Our present study was classified into 3 main parts:— part 1 : studies on the morphology of the tail in some domestic animals part 2 : studies on the radiology and osteology of the tail in some domestic animals part 3 : surgical affections of the tail in some domestic animals. PART I orphology of the tail A total number of 502 animals (horse = 14, mule = 23, donkey = 76, buffalo = 69, Baladi cattle 63, Freisien cattle = 67, camel 52, sheep 68, goat = 46 and dog = 24) were examined for the actual and total length of the tail; length of the switch; shape, width and thickness of the tail in cross sections at three levels; circumference of the tail at three levels; distribution of the hair on the dorsal, and ventral aspect of the tail and forms of the tail. PART 2 Radiology and osteology of the tail A total number of 54 tails (horse = 3, mule = 3, donkey 6, buffalo 7, Baladi cattle 4, Freisien cattle = 8, camel 4, sheep 6, goat = 6 and dog 7) were examined radiologically for; number and length of. |
