Abstract
The steps involved in the production of pulp and paper are preparation of raw material, pupling, bleaching and paper making. Large quantities of water are used, it is needed for straw preparation and as a carrying agent in chemical pulping and bleaching. The chief sources of liquid waste are the raw material processing, pulp producing and caustic soda-chlorine bleaching plants.
