The present investigation aimed to enlighten the realtion ship between the host and the microbial pathogenic agent in maize late wilt disease. This work included the following topics :
1-Variation of maize cultivars in their response to C. maydis.
2-Variation of C. maydis isolates in their virulence.
3-Chemical and histological differentials between susceptible and resistant cultivars.
4- Actions of C. Maydis as pathogen.
5-Attempts of prophylactic and therapeutic treatments aiming to overcome the incident wilting.
