Abstract

The present study was carried out in the Department of
Animal production Experimental farm, College of Environmental
Agricultural Sciences, EI- Arish, North Sinai, Suez Canal
University, Egypt; Two Experiments were carried out from
December, 2003 to May, 2006.
This study consisted of 2 experiments, the first experiment
was carried out on adult male Damascus goats (bucks) and growing
kids to evaluate the feeding value of experimental rations contained
A. saligna and olive pulp cake. The second experiment was carried
out on Damascus does and their kids to study the effect of feeding
the experimental rations contained A. saligna and olive pulp cake
on the productive traits and some biochemical changes of does and
growth and biochemical changes of kids.
The obtained results cleared that for first experiment (The
bucks rations) the digestion coefficients of all nutrients of control
ration were higher significantly than those of AC ration also the
digestion coefficients of OM and CF of control ration were higher
significantly than those of OC ration.
While the results of kids’ rations there were significant differences
in digestion coefficients for all nutrients between C and ACU
rations. While there were significant differences in digestion
coefficients of DM, OM, CF and EE between ACU and OCU
rations, while there were no significant differences in digestion
coefficients of CP and NFE.
The obtained results of experiment 2 for does live body weight of
does and milk production did not differ among the three rations. Fat
percentage was higher (p < 0.05) in OC ration than that in C or
ACU rations. In both does and kids serum glucose, Triglycerides,
albumin (g/dl) and Albumin / Globulin ratio did not differ among
rations. While for growing kids daily gain of growing Damascus
kids did not differ significantly among rations.
