Infertility is defined as failure to conceive after one year of marriage of regular intercourse without the use of contraception. It affects 10–15% of all couples. The female partner infertility is responsible for 50% of the causes, while male partner infertility is the primary diagnosis in approximately 25% of cases and contributes to a further 15–25% of the remaining cases. The infertility in couples remains unexplained in approximately 10-20% of cases. (Hare and Thin , 2005) Genital infection is a documented cause of infertility, and Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common organism implicated in this regard. It is sexually transmitted with worldwide prevalence. But current researches, screening, and treatment are focused on females, and the burden of disease and infertility sequelae is considered to be a predominantly female problem. (Horn et al ; 2004). Thus, the importance of this pathogen in male genital tract infection often is underrated.
