Abstract
Urinary tract infection is the presence of organisms in a properly collected specimen of urine.
Predisposing factors: 1-Age and Sex
2-urinary obstruction. 3-pregnancy. 4- instrumentation . 5- bilharziasis. 6-Non- obstructive factors. 7-diabetes melliyus. 8-spinal injuries. 9-residual urine.
Routes of infection: 1-Ascending infection. 2-Haematogenous route. 3-Lymphatic route. 4- direct spread.
