Abstract The present study aims to determine the prevalence of the various types of skin tumors among patients attending the outpatient clinic of Department of Dermatology, Andrology, and STDs, Minia University Hospital. Some conclusions are: 1- LYMPHOMA AND LEUKAEMIA (A) Mycosis fungoides: In the present study, mycosis fungoides has been diagnosed in 3 patients. This represents 0.03% of the total number included in the study. This incidence is lower than that reported in Rochester, Minsota, USA by Chuang et al., (1990) who had reported an incidence of 0.9/100 000.The age of these patients ranged from 55-70 years with a mean and SD of 62.7+ (-) 7.5. The males within this group represent 66.7% (2cases) whereas females represent 33.3% (1 case). Thus, in the present study; males are more frequently affected than females. (B) Actinic reticuloid: In the present study, actinic reticuloid has been diagnosed in one male patient aged 55 years old. This represents 0.01% of the total number included in the study. This correlates with Johnson et al., (1979) who had reported that the disease occurs exclusively in elderly males. |
