Abstract Aim of the work is to examine the presence of mmp-9 in maternal plasma and urine may be a marker to predict the onset of term labour and delivery. Conclusion: We conclude on the light of these results that MMP-9 is a useful tool in predicting the actual onset of term labour and delivery. Plasma MMP-9 had the highest diagnostic indexes and predictive values for actual onset of term labour compared to urinary MMP-9 and modified Bishop’s score. Therefore it is of great importance to use this assay in predicting the actual onset of labour and prevention of post term pregnancy. |
